GATE Annual Meeting '08

The GATE general assembly was hosted by Smiths Heimann in Wiesbaden. The delegates were impressed by the state of the art R&D division as well as the new production facilities.
Under the topic “safety and security” a paper has been presented by the Vice-President of Police in the German state of Hesse, Mr. Hefner.
The Member of Parliament in Hesse, MdL Peter Beuth, referred about the expansion of Frankfurt Airport from a political point of view.
The assembly discussed next year’s activities and accepted the budget for 2009 – i.e. the GATE platform on Interairport Europe in Munich – and appreciated the new homepage launched in December 2008.
Having dinner in an ancient wine cellar in Eltville on the Rhine river - already used around 1460 by Gutenberg (read about Johannes Gutenberg in wikipedia) as a 'print shop' - covered the social and cultural part of the conference.
